Everyone deserves a good night's sleep!
How might we design a cost sensitive mattress for the masses without compromising on support and comfort?
Most economically priced mattresses have similar construction styles i.e. layering of materials.
In the process of making the mattresses affordable to mass, many times durability is overlooked and quality compromised, leading to uneven support and several health issues over time.
On the other hand, mattresses providing sincere support and comfort mostly belong to the premium price brackets as they are made to provide support, comfort and last longer, using high grade materials and comprehensive quality control.
Target Customer
People working in 9 to 5 jobs with busy corporate lives and hectic schedules in the age group of 35 to 45.
When the onset of sleep related issues such as rheumatic diseases, spinal cord problems compounded with the residual problems of workplace, like incorrect seating posture, lack of sleep start emerging.
A Blend Of Traditional Wisdom With Contemporary Design
Cuddle Cube pulls inspiration from the traditional cotton mattress which is essentially made by filling cotton battings in a fabric cover, secured with hand stitches.
The segments in Cuddle Cube are made of individual blocks filled with foam cubes and engineered fibres.
Each block comprises of six inner compartments, the fresh core construction ensures durability and a maintenance free mattress, unlike its traditional form which requires re-fluffing of fibres from time to time.
An array of such boxes are put together to form a segmented mattress.
The Seven Zones
First four zones support the body segments with highest percentage of weight distribution (head, shoulder, lumbar, hips). The zones are mirrored to make it usable from either end.
The amount of fill defines the support that block offers along it’s physical properties.
Cuddle cube provides good contour to the body and helps
relieve pressure on various body parts to maintain a
healthy blood flow without getting disturbed with numbness
during sleep.

Future Possibilities
The construction of this mattress opens up a wide range of possibilities. In the future, the segments of the mattress can be tailor fitted to the customer's specific sleep requirements, triggering a #bespoke sleep culture
The segments can be constructed with ceaseless material possibilities. It will also be possible to swap out the segments post purchase in case of damage or a change in sleep requirement of the user. For example, in summers the segments can be switched to more breathable materials and in winters they can be switched to warmer materials.
